Description
After losing to Napoleon in 1806 the Treaty of Tilsit neutered the Prussianarmy, allowing the once proud country only a tiny standing army. Despiteingenious efforts to circumvent the wording of the treaty, the Prussian armythat mustered to fight in the Hundred Days campaign was mostly made fromvolunteer Landwehr militia (literally, country defenders).
Ill-equipped and poorly trained, the Landwehr infantry and cavalry regimentsmade up for this deficit with sheer numbers and fierce determination. Regardlessof the Landwehr quality, the elite Jäger (hunter) units still skirmish ahead,protecting them and harrying the enemy.
This plastic set provides enough models to field a complete brigade of threePrussian Landwehr regiments of 80 men each, 1 regiment of Landwehr cavalry,consisting of three bases of cavalry, and a unit of skirmishing Jägers.
