Whether it is an artillery battery miles away from the battlefield, a navalgunship out to sea, or a ground attack aircraft high above the fighting, suchweapons systems would be much less effective without the services ofwell-trained forward observers. Each infantry division was assigned its ownartillery support assets in the Regio Esercito, and although many of theartillery pieces and aircraft were outdated, they were nonetheless quite lethalunder the right circumstances. Given the firepower these forward observers couldbring to bear on their targets, their neutralization was a high priority toopposing commanders.
Contains three metal figures.
