What will you see on your adventure in Cascadia? On your turn, build out yourmap and match animals and habitats to add sightings to your panorama and scorepoints! Cascadia Junior lets younger players experience the spatial puzzle ofthe award-winning board game Cascadia. This standalone game teaches patternbuilding, set collection, and basic addition. Learn about bears, hawks, elk,salmon, and foxes in this diverse land of mountains, wetlands, prairies, rivers,and forests!
In Cascadia Junior, players take turns drafting habitat tiles and adding themto their environment. They must try to match the same habitats to grow theirhabitat corridors and score more points while creating groups of three wildlifeicons on connected tiles. Once they make matches, they earn wildlife and habitatsighting tokens that they can add to their panorama board, where they will maketheir own personal picture of the Cascadian wilderness! At the end of the game,all players flip over their sighting tokens to discover the conifer cones theyhave collected. The player with the most cones wins!
Cascadia Junior is a stepping stone game that will allow children to learnthe basics of pattern matching. Over time, they can use the included wildlifescoring cards with the advanced mode, which requires more complex shapes foreach wildlife group. Once children gain familiarity with that mode, they can tryout the family mode of the base Cascadia game and eventually the full Cascadiaexperience!
